The Lord’s Supper – What do We Believe?

When we receive the Lord’s Supper we believe we are receiving a gift of Christ.  At the Lord’s Supper we receive bread and wine, and as we receive the bread and wine we believe we are also receiving the body of Christ and the blood of Christ.  How does this happen?  We believe that the Word of God changes the bread and wine, to body and blood and bread and wine together.   We don’t know how this happens, we say it is a mystery.   We accept this change because of the faith God has worked in us.  There are wonderful  gifts that come with Lord’s Supper.  We believe God gives us forgiveness of sins.  God also strengthens our faith through the Lord’s Supper.
